NATO should apologize to Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan for the 900,000 lives lost to wars in those countries, and to the tens of millions of refugees, Lidjian Zhao, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, wrote on Twitter.

He shared a collage of photos from Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya, with a caption reading that since 2001, NATO-related wars have killed 900,000 people, including 400,000 civilians.
