The town of Novi Becej in the province of Vojvodina has become known for two events that gather a large number of tourists from Serbia and the countries of the region.

One is the "blooming" of the Tisa River, a natural phenomenon when insects, known as "Tisa flowers," rise from the mud to the surface of the water and "dance" there for hours.

At the end of August, the tourist and entertainnment event "Velikogospojinski Dani" offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a parade of carriages, Vojvodina specialties, plays, educational workshops, concerts...

The assembly point in both cases is the bank of the Tisa River and the famous Tisa Quay, which is said to be the most beautiful quay in Serbia. A river that flows quietly and is said to be among the slowest rivers in the world, surrounded by lush greenery, used to cause trouble because of its unpredictable nature.

Today, it hot summer days, it provides relief to swimmers, is ideal for a boat ride and getting to know Novi Becej from the water, and a paradise for fishers who follow its course to escape from everyday life at least for a while...
