The newly elected mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, has officially taken over the duty from former mayor Zoran Radojicic.

Sapic thanked Radojicic for everything he did for Belgrade during his four-year mandate and said that the doors of the Old Palace will always be open to him.

He said that the new city government will continue all the good projects that have been started and that it will try to maintain the continuity of the good development of the capital in the previous ten years.

"This city administration will do its best to continue all good things, and try to change those that were a little less good and to influence them in a positive way," Sapic told reporters.

Radojicic wished good luck to the newly elected mayor in leading Belgrade and said he beleived that he will work well, in the interest of the citizens.

"It was pleasant for me to work together with Belgraders and Belgrade on improving the city and the way it functions these four years. One of the main characteristics in life is variability, so I am happy that one period in my life has ended and that a new period follows, either as a doctor or in another position," said Radojicic.

He added that he expects that the new team led by Sapic to continue with good projects for Belgrade, as well as realize some new projects.

Radojicic thanked the media for the successful cooperation during his term in office.
