Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali said that wiretapping of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is unacceptable and that he believes that state institutions will do their job in order to "conclude this affair and put it behind us."

Asked whether members of the government talk to each other and whether there is different treatment after Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic and former State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior Diana Hrkalovic gave statements to the Interior Ministry's Internal Control Sector, after Hrkalovic's accusations that Stefanovic was wiretapping Vucic, Mali told TV Pink last night that he is not sure that anyone has all the information to be able to take a stand with certainty.

Asked if he is sometimes uncomfortable attending government sessions after such stories, he said that it is not important how he feels, but that the most important thing is to see this matter through.

"On the one hand, you have serious accusations from both sides, we've heard all sorts of things over the past few days and I think it's good that they both gave statements to the police on Friday and what the president said, I think it's very important to let state institutions finish their job," said Mali.

When it comes to wiretapping, Mali reminded that Vucic confirmed that he had transcripts of his wiretapped conversations.

"That is unacceptable. That should not have happened, especially not to a person who is so trusted by citizens and who is fighting for Serbia with so much love and dedication. That is my personal opinion. I think and believe that state institutions will do their job to the end so that this affair is concluded and put behind us," stated Mali.

Asked how he sees the fact that some media outlets put wiretapping in the background and focus on the relationship between Stefanovic and Hrkalovic, Mali said that he is not there to deal with what the press writes about and stressed that this is serious topic, nothing to be facetious about.
