The Open Balkan Summit starts today in Ohrid, and Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama wrote on Facebook on that occasion that Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic is today "officially introducing Montenegro into the Open Balkan" - while Abazovic denied it.

"Enjoying coffee upon arrival in Ohrid, with Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, who today officially introduces Montenegro into Open Balkan, as well as with US Ambassador to Serbia Chris Hill, who is a longtime friend of Albania and Albanians, but also an unwavering advocate of Open Balkan," Rama wrote.

Along with this message, Rama published a photo with Abazovic and the US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic denied the claim made by his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama in a post on Telegram, saying that he was not in Ohrid to join the Open Balkan initiative, but to express his stance towards the project with EU and NATO partners.

"We are not going to Ohrid to join Open Balkan, but to, together with EU partners and NATO allies, express our stance towards a regional initiative in order to have more understanding and better cooperation at the end of the day," said Abazovic.
