Berlin confirms: Olaf Scholz to visit Serbia on June 10

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will pay a two-day visit to the Western Balkans, Greece and Bulgaria next week, it has been confirmed in Berlin, Blic writes

According to Deutsche Welle, the main topics will be the EU perspective, Germany's contribution to overcoming bilateral blockades, and the war in Ukraine.

The first stops on Olaf Scholz's two-day Balkan tour will be Belgrade and Pristina on June 10. According to a spokesman of the German Chancellor, a visit to the German KFOR troops is planned in Kosovo, among other things.

After that, Scholz will go to Thessaloniki, at the invitation of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, where he will join a dinner with representatives of the countries of the regional initiative "South East European Cooperation Process" (SEECP).

The next day, June 11, the German chancellor will leave for North Macedonia, and then for Bulgaria.

According to a statement from the chancellor's office, the focus of Olaf Scholz's travels will be the EU perspective of the Western Balkan countries, as well as Germany's contribution to improving regional cooperation and overcoming bilateral blockades.

In addition, it is added, the central topic will be further joint reaction to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.

As stated on the official website of the German chancellor's office, more details about the itinerary will be announced in the next few days.
