The Government of Montenegro announced that Abazovic also spoke with Vucic about regional initiatives including Open Balkan.

It added that it was concluded that Montenegro is making maximum efforts to promote a policy of regional cooperation, reconciliation, coexistence, and better economic connections in the Western Balkan.

Abazovic stressed that Montenegro is committed to developing good neighborly relations with Serbia, which are further strengthened by common European goals and the regional context, "and based on economic, geographical and political orientation towards each other," the statement said.

Abazovic also said that it is necessary to improve economic cooperation, "primarily through implementation of joint project activities in the field of energy and infrastructure."

"Relations with Serbia are a priority for the Government of Montenegro, which is why we are ready for intensive cooperation in all areas of common interest," said Abazovic.
