On Sokolarica, clouds are at your fingertips: Mt. Tara observation deck offers spectacular views

Out of the nine scenic viewpoints on the Tara National Park, the most popular one is certainly Banjska Stena, but there are more and more fans of Sokolarica, which actually consists of three connected decks

Above the Raca gorge, on the edge of the plateau and the settlement of Sokolina is the Sokolarica observation deck, one of the trademarks of our mountain beauty Tara and one of the nine observation decks on this mountain in western Serbia.

The spot is located 12 kilometers away from Mitrovica, 10 kilometers from Kaludjerske Bare and four kilometers from Racanska Sljvovica.

Sokolarica, in fact, consists of several small connected observation decks at an altitude of 990 meters, from where you can see Crnjeskovo and the famous Krstata Stena, a boulder that was part of the Petrus fortification.

Among observation decks on Tara, Banjska Stena is certainly the most popular, but many who set out toward Sokolarica and reach its top claim that the view from here is the most beautiful on the entire mountain. Depending on the weather, once at Sokolarica you may have the impression that you can catch the clouds floating over the Tara National Park with your hands.

Sokolarica is a part of the Klisura Raca Reserve that includes a mountain beech rainforest, as well as woods rich in fir, spruce, black pine and juniper. trees This is also the habitat of the brown bear, so it doesn't hurt to be extra careful while hiking up to the observation point...
