Deputy Prime Minister and member of the SNS Presidency Zorana Mihajlovic says that the new government should be strong, because Serbia is facing important decisions, and that the future prime minister should come from the SNS, which won the elections.

"I think a new government is a long way away. I think that we should first talk to minority parties, but what is more important is what we want from the new government, because there must be no mistakes. We need a strong government that will make important and not so easy decisions. I believe that the new government should also be pro-European," Mihajlovic told Euronews.

Asked about her previous statement that Ivica Dacic cannot be prime minister, she reiterated that her opinion that the position belongs to the SNS.

"My opinion is that they always relied on President Vucic, and especially in the campaign, they did not show a partnership relationship. They are not a valid partner for me, because we made difficult decisions, essentially worse for our party, and they behaved differently in the campaign. We need to talk to everyone, but when it comes to the SPS, we need to think things through well," Mihajlovic added.

She also stated that she is in favor of talks with representatives of all parties, but opposes cooperation with the Freedom and Justice Party.

"I am always in favor of talks, but I am not in favor of cooperation with Dragan Djilas' party. I'm not sure that's the way to go and it seems confusing. Also, what everyone forgets is that the SNS won the Belgrade elections and that we won significantly more votes than the runners-up and have almost twice as many councilors. Democratic processes should be respected, which means that the results should be declared first, that the one who received the most votes should try to form the city government, then the parties that are in second place, and only then, if no one succeeds, there should be new elections," said Mihajlovic.
