Rgotsko Lake, formed in 1978, is located about ten kilometers from Zajecar, near the village of Rgotina.

This favorite beach of Zajecar and Bor residents boasts extremely clear and warm water due to the presence of quartz sand.

At one time, it was interesting to fishers as well, while it was being stocked. In order to return fishers to this part of Serbia, the lake was restocked again last spring.

Today, mostly tourists and those passionate about photography come to the shores of Rgotsko Lake, capturing beautiful landscapes with with an emphasis on the transparent water and the beautiful nature reflected in it.

The water temperature in Rgotsko Lake is from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius, and the depth goes down to 40 meters. In times of great droughts, an underwater spring releases large amounts of water, so the level of the lake does not drop even during biggest heatwaves.

At the beginning of this decade, divers explored the bottom of the lake and were enchanted by the underwater world. They say that the grass at the bottom of Rgotsko Lake is intensely green and soft like a carpet, while yet more proof that supports the claim the lake is very clean is the lake is the presence of a plant called chara, which grows only in crystal clear waters.
