The reconstructed railway station New Belgrade, a part of the high speed Belgrade-Novi Sad line, has been opened for passengers.

After visiting the station, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic said that starting today, BG VOZ ("BG TRAIN") will also run on the line from Batajnica to Ovca.

As of today, all trains will be stopping at the New Belgrade railway station, including Regio trains between Belgrade and Novi Sad, as well as InterCity Soko trains, which run on high-speed rail.

BG VOZ will be among them, and a large parking lot for cars with about 260 spaces has been opened.

"We are putting the New Belgrade railway station into operation. Of course, there is still a lot to do and I ask all people for a little patience. Today, we are also starting BG VOZ service via Batajnica, Zemun Polje, Zemun, Tosin Bunar, New Belgrade, to the Belgrade Center station," said Momirovic.

BG VOZ did not run to Batajnica for several months, due to the finishing works on the high-speed railway.

"We are returning BG VOZ at full capacity and residents of Batajnica and Zemun Polje will finally have the best quality railway connection with the city center. Very soon, by the end of this year, we will have 18 more new sets and include them in BG VOZ. So we are bringing back this local service in its full capacity," he said.
