Red Star fans show support for Russia, the club won't remove Gazprom logo from jerseys

Red Star fans ("Delije") made it clear who's side they're on

Fans of Red Star, known as Delije, supported Russia during a game their club played away against Vozdovac on Thursday, winning 3-0!

In the middle of the second half, Delije thundered from the section of the stands reserved for them, chanting, "Serbia - Russia," which made it clear whose side they are on when it comes to the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The club's general director, Zvezdan Terzic, recently said that Red Star will not remove the name of its sponsor, Gazprom, from the jerseys.

"We have not received a request (from UEFA) to remove the Gazprom logo. I sincerely hope that will not happen. Gazprom has been with Red Star since 2010 and was with us when we were facing the worst scenario. When we were in a difficult situation in 2015, they paid us a year and a half in advance. If it weren't for Gazprom, the question is whether there would be Red Star! People who love Red Star will never forget what Gazprom has done for the club. That relationship goes beyond a business one, it is a friendship," said Terzic.
