Dr. Tiodorovic: Let's immediately abolish Covid passes, nobody respects them. Same goes for quarantine
Quarantine for contacts should be abolished and only isolation should remain for those who are treated at home
"I am in favor of immediately abolishing Covid passes because they are not respected anyway, to be honest. And precisely because of that non-compliance, the question arises whether those passes should continue to exist, which are enforced from 8 pm in hospitality facilities. And very soon we will abolish quarantine for those who were in contact with infected people, and do not have the green certificate, that is, they have not been vaccinated or have recently had coronavirus," epidemiologist Professor Dr. Branislav Tiodorovic from the Crisis HQ has told the daily Kurir.
Asked when the crisis HQ will be lifting restrictions, i.e. canceling Covid measures, Tiodorovic said that a meeting of that body has not been scheduled yet.
"There is nothing special to abolish, when no one adheres to anything. Look how many people were at the stadium the other day," said Tiodorovic and added:
"Quarantine for contacts should be abolished and only isolation should remain for those who are treated at home. Now it is seven days, unlike 14 previously, because Omicron passes quite quickly, especially in younger people."
Commenting on the fact that Britain has abolished isolation for infected people as well, Professor Tiodorovic said that, unfortunately, Serbia cannot be compared to that country.
