The lion was caught today in a house in the village of Krapina
A young lion, who wandered for days in the area of Budva, Montenegro, was located and caught today, and is now safe, it has been confirmed for Telegraf.rs.
The lion was found today in a house in the village of Krapina.
The animal, whose exact age is unknown, was safely captured, and as we have found out, he was in poor condition and very exhausted.
The lion was located on the second day of an intensive search, which included representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro, activists, volunteers and biologists from the Center for Protection and Study of Birds, who were on duty in the field with cameras throughout the previous night, setting up traps and lures.
The animal will be housed in the premises of the Protection and Rescue Service until adequate accommodation is found.
The lion, which, according to earlier reports, escaped after being held in captivity as a "pet" by a private person, had been roaming the area of Budva for days, and yesterday morning an intensive search began.
Although there is no official information about how old the lion is, it is speculated that he is between four and eight months old, and weighed between 30 and 50 kilograms.
