Members of the Department for the Fight against Corruption in Novi Sad, in cooperation with members of the Security Information Agency, on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, arrested three people suspected of fraud in connection with Covid vaccination certificates.

On suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position, the police arrested a doctor in one healthcare center, D.P.U. (42) and S.A. (42), while M.B. (31) is charged with the criminal offense of forging a document.

It is suspected that D.P.U., using her authority, created certificates of vaccination against Covid for several persons, falsely showing that these persons had been vaccinated, although that was not the case.

The suspected S.A. and a 37-year-old woman that the police are still looking for are suspected of providing personal data for themselves, the suspect M.B. and other persons to D.P.U., in order to obtain immunization certificates from her in exchange for financial compensation, even though they knew the certificates were false.

The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the competent prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.
