Spanish government confirms: Novak won't be able to compete there without getting vaccinated

The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, will have problems if he wants to compete in Spain, a spokeswoman for the government there confirmed on Tuesday, after a hint from the country's prime minister that the Serbian player will not be allowed to enter unless he adheres to health rules.

"What Mr. Djokovic should do is get vaccinated, that would be by far the most reasonable thing at this moment," Isabel Rodriguez said at a press conference when asked if Novak will be allowed to compete in Spain.
The day before, Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez said that the Serbian tennis player will have to adhere to health protocols in the country if he wants to compete, although he did not clearly stress and mention vaccination.
Rodriguez removed that dilemma, while an additional problem for Novak is that he regularly travels to Spain because he has a house in Marbella, and stayed there for a few days at the end of December and the beginning of January.
It remains to be seen what Novak Djokovic's next steps will be, as more and more tournaments "threaten" that there will be no competing without vaccination.
