Djokovic is finally coming home! Serbian tennis player has already boarded a plane to Belgrade
It was time
It's over, at least in a way! After 11 days of fighting, court dates, and even being held in detention, Novak Djokovic will come home to Belgrade, since he is already on a plane flying to Serbia, RTS is reporting.
Djokovic's appeal was rejected on Sunday and he was deported from Australia, he left for Dubai on the first flight, where he landed at around 05:30 local time. However, the Serbian tennis player did not stay in the Emirates for long, as he is already on a plane to Belgrade.
The Serbian tennis player took his time to take photos with his fans who happened to be at the airport Dubai, but the time has come for him to return home.
A short recap of his time in Australia
Nobody will probably ever be able to imagine the kind of torture Novak went through during these 11 days. His visa was revoked, then he spent several days in a "horror hotel" in inhumane conditions and without proper food.
Fans were coming every day to cheer on the tennis player, while his colleagues held various opinions. There were those who stood up to the Australian authorities, but also, those who saw Novak as the culprit.
A court then reinstated Novak's visa and everything was moving toward him getting a chance to - become the best ever.
However, Alex Hawke, the minister of immigration, decided to use "his powers" and for the second time revoked Novak Djokovic' visa, against the court's decision.
This time the case went to the Federal Court, which upheld Hawke's move.
Novak has been deported, he will not be able to enter Australia for the next three years, which, considering his age, will probably halt him at winning nine titles there - that is how many times he has been the Australian Open champion.
