Scandal: Australian police uses tear gas against women and children defending Novak
Disgraceful scenes from the streets of Melbourne, where huge chaos has erupted
We are watching scandalous scenes this evening local time taking place in Melbourne, after the decision was made the Federal and Family Cour to release Novak Djokovic from migration detention.
Namely, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Migration indicated that it might use its discretionary right to annul Novak's visa once again, after which the police arrived at Djokovic's lawyers' office. It has not yet been confirmed whether this will actually happen.
There was commotion when one car passed through the crowd. People accosted it and started chanting "free Novak" after which the police used a substance, most likely tear gas, to disperse protesters.
The gathered people, women and children among them, started to run away, which further angered the protesters, who then engaged in conflict with the police. According to unofficial information, some of them are in serious condition.
See details from the protest in the galleries and in videos from the scene.
