Drama on Tuzla flight: Man refuses to land in Belgrade, threatens to crash plane and kill his family
The man was quickly overpowered by the cabin crew, and was later detained at the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade, Serbia
During last night's flight between Billund in Denmark and Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina, an unusual incident occurred when a man allegedly tried to open the door of the plane mid flight.
The Wizz Air plane could not land at the airport in Tuzla due to fog, and after passengers were informed that the flight was being redirected to Belgrade, one of them got up from his seat and allegedly tried to open the door, writes Klix.ba.
"F**** your Serbian mother, balija, why are you silent?! Why are you taking me to Serbia? I will crash the plane, kill myself, my wife and child. You're messing with me. Get away, I'll kill you too," a man can be heard making threats, shouting and cursing, in a video published by Novosti.
The man was quickly overpowered by the cabin crew.
Allegedly, his wife later tried to do the same.
The man, a citizen of Denmark, Sulejman I., who verbally insulted and made threats because the plane he was traveling on had to make an emergency landong at the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla, has been detained for up to 24 hours according to the Law on Misdemeanors.
The suspect was arrested by the border police at the airport, the duty prosecutor had been informed, who stated that there were no elements of a criminal act and that a misdemeanor complaint should be filed.
But after additional consultations with the Prosecutor's Office, criminal charges were filed against the suspect for inciting national, racial and religious hatred and intolerance, as well as endangering airspace safety.
