The construction of an electric engines factory of the Japanese Nidec Corporation started today in Novi Sad, in the presence of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

The factory will be built in the Industrial Zone North 4, on Kacki Road.

Milos Vucevic, the mayor of Novi Sad, says that it will be the best Nidec factory in the world manufacturing electric engines for electric vehicles.

"'Moving fast means moving slow without stopping', reads a well-known Japanese proverb and, in accordance with this Japanese wisdom, we in Novi Sad are moving forward with great speed because there are no stops, no waiting, new great things happen almost every month. In the company of President Aleksandar Vucic, His Excellency Ambassador of Japan Takahiko Katsumata and Mr. Shingo Tsuji, a representative of Nidec, we laid the cornerstone for a future factory of this Japanese giant on Kacki Road, in Novi Sad," Vucevic wrote, and added:

"I remind you that Nidec is one of the world leaders in the electric industry, that the future factory will be the best Nidec factory in the world manufacturing electric engines for electric vehicles and that the plan is to employ almost 500, mostly highly educated workers. In seemingly slow but uninterrupted steps, in recent years we made Novi Sad an oasis for the IT and high-tech industry in the entire region. Nidec is the crown of our work so far, we all feel pride, pride that drives us to take new steps, towards more progress for our Serbia!"
