Great news for Serbian athletics: Slobodan Brankovic is new co-president of the Balkan Federation
Belgrade was the host of the largest Balkan Athletics Congress, where an important decision for Serbian athletics has been made
The largest Balkan Athletics Congress was held today in Belgrade, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The congress was attended by President of World Athletics Lord Sebastian Coe, as well as President of European Athletics Dobromir Karamarinov, together with 22 members of Balkan Athletics (ABAF) and three federations that joined as guests: Spain, Belarus and Hungary.
The congress opened with a report by the president and a presentation by the ABAF Executive Board about the previous year. Then the state of Malta became the 22nd member. After that, changes to competition conditions and the calendar of Balkan competitions for 2022 were adopted, and finally the most important thing for our country, Slobodan Brankovic was elected co-president of the Balkan Federation along with the president of the Turkish Federation, Fatih Cintimar.
After the meeting, all those present headed to the Athletics Hall where the grand opening of a new athletics track will take place.
