Putin to Vucic: "Aleksandar, it will be fine." Serbia to continue buying Russian gas for $270
"We've saved enough money to build a stadium thanks to Putin," Vucic said
"We will have an exceptional price of gas, and a larger volume of it. We have agreed on a price of 270 dollars (per 1,000 cubic meters), an increase in the volume, and a flexibility in deliveries over the next six months," President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Serbia will not have problems with gas supply, the president pointed out and said that this was a promise he received from his Russian counterpart.
"He understood the importance of gas for our country, both the price and the quantity. We achieved something we tried and President Putin showed his friendship towards Serbia... We got an incredible price of 270 dollars," he said.
"He accepted to extend the gas contract under the same price, under the same conditions," said Vucic and added that at the beginning of the meeting, the answer to the question about gas that he received was, "Aleksandar, it will be fine."
Vucic added that in this way, Serbia will save over 300 million euros, which, he says, is enough to build a national stadium, and we will also have supply security.
Vucic spoke with Putin today in Sochi about a large number of bilateral and international issues, while the focus was the price of gas Serbia buys from Russia.
During the meeting, Putin said that Moscow and Belgrade would find an acceptable solution regarding the terms of a new agreement regulating gas supplies to Serbia.
