This is how drug smuggling KLA veteran got arrested: 50 packages of narcotics, photos in uniform
E.L. has been detained for up to 48 hours
Members of the Ministry of the Interior, the Criminal Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Subotica Police Department, the Vranje Police Department and the Nis Gendarmerie Unit, have, acting on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Subotica, arrested E.L. (45) on suspicion that he committed the crime of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotics.
He is charged with procuring 50 packages with about 50 kilograms of marijuana in Kosovo and Metohija at the end of August and then together with D.I. (37), who was arrested earlier, smuggling the drugs to Vranje.
D.I. is suspected of then transporting the narcotics in a rented van to Subotica, where he was arrested.
A search of the house and other premises used by suspect E.L. turned up three cars, four mobile phones, a large amount of cash in various currencies, as well as an ID card of a KLA ("Kosovo Liberation Army") veterans' association and photos of the suspect wearing a KLA uniform.
E.L. has been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Subotica along with a criminal complaint.
