A joint meeting of parliamentary heads is expected to be held in the Assembly to agree on the work of the parliament going forward
Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev, who resigned last night, has convened a meeting of vice presidents of the parties of the ruling majority to initiate negotiations on a new prime minister and on the composition of a new government.
The presidents of those parties also resigned in agreement with the outgoing prime minister.
According to the MKD portal, after Zaev's resignation yesterday, the entire government is resigning.
A joint meeting of parliamentary heads is expected to be held in the Assembly to agree on the work of the parliament going forward.
After stepping down last night after a poor showing in local polls, Zaev said that he was against early parliamentary elections and that a new, reconstructed government could be expanded to include more people.
The main coalition partner of his SDSM party is the ethnic Albanian DUI party led by Ali Ahmeti.
