Brnabic: For now, Covid passes will not be required around the clock
A new meeting of the Crisis HQ will be held next week
Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic said today in Kragujevac that vaccination against coronavirus is the response to the pandemic and that "there is, slowly, growth there - we have exceeded 55% of vaccinated population, and that is the most important thing."
Brnabic told a press conference after visiting the Kragujevac based company for distribution of thermal energy Energetika that for now, Covid passes will not be required around the clock.
Asked whether anti-epidemic measures should be tightened, she said that "for now, this measure that we have should be fully implemented and it should all take root."
"At the same time, we are going with strict inspecting of the implementation of other measures, masks indoors, and outdoors where it is impossible to maintain distance," said Brnabic and announced that a meeting of the Crisis HQ would be held next week.
When asked whether students will switch to online classes, Brnabic said that the Batut Institute is holding meetings with the medical part of the Crisis HQ and with the Ministry of Education about further recommendations for schools.
"They will have another meeting on Thursday and then they will forward some of their recommendations to the Crisis HQ. I expect to see a recommendation. What is extremely important to me and what I think should not be changed, is that children attending first through fourth grade of primary school will certainly continue to go to school," said Brnabic.
The prime minister added that they would also talk to trade unions "so that their opinion can be heard" as well as that the possibility of "moving the (winter school) break a little" would be considered.
