The Pope's chief of diplomacy to arrive in Belgrade in the second half of November
The Vatican sets foreign policy agenda for its head's visit based on communication with dominant Christian communities in individual countries
The Holy See's Secretary for Relations with States Archbishop Paul Gallagher is coming to Belgrade on November 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selakovic has announced.
Selakovic recalled that the Vatican has a principled position not to recognize Kosovo's separatism as statehood, and added that its support for Serbia is exceptionally important.
He told Vecernje Novosti that the Vatican determines the foreign policy agenda of the visit of its head based on communication with dominant Christian communities in individual countries.
"That means that the realization of the Pope's visit to Serbia is closely connected to the voice of the Serbian Orthodox Church," he added.
Selakovic is convinced that the two Churches will communicate and discuss this issue.
