Horror in Belgrade: Patient attacks medical technician with knife because he told him to put on mask
The patient was coughing all the time and refusing to put on a mask
This morning around 5 o'clock an incident occurred in Despota Stefana Street when a patient attacked a medical technician from an ambulance crew, reports TV Pink.
Namely, he attacked the medical technician with a knife because he told him to put on a mask.
"The patient was coughing all the time and when the technician told him that he had to put on a mask, he took out a knife and attacked him. Fortunately, our colleague handled it well and held the patient until the police arrived. We offered to send another ambulance team, but the patient refused," the emergency service said.
Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic strongly condemned the attack on the ambulance crew, which happened in Despota Stefana Street this morning.
"That shows how negative the campaign against all measures of protection against coronavirus is. Measures are made stricter around the world because the situation is getting worse. It's dangerous that people are subject to misinformation, instead of getting vaccinated and respecting the measures. There are people who think that coronavirus does not exist and are even ready to endanger the safety of someone who is merely warning them about the obligatory use of a mask when entering an ambulance. I condemn such an attack. As a state, we have deal with that incredible propaganda even more," said Vesic.
