The home of grandma Rumena, the only Serb woman in Pec, attacked with stones again: Windows smashed
This elderly woman's windows were broken before, and one time the attackers tried to set her house on fire
Rumena Ljubic is the only Serb woman who lives in central Pec, a town in Kosovo and Metohija, and her house was stoned for the second time in the last 24 hours. The windows were smashed during the attack.
The president of the Provisional Authority for Pec, Milos Dimitrijevic, told Radio Gorazdevac that the case of the stoning of Rumena Ljubic's house has been reported to the police.
Rumena is a retired professor, and along with the family of an Orthodox priest, is the only Serb woman in central Pec.
The priest who lives not far from her house visits sometimes, as well as Serbs from Gorazdevac, a nearby village.
Dimitrijevic announced that the damage to Rumena Ljubic's house would be repaired by the Provisional Authority and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
Loneliness is my biggest enemy
20,000 Serbs used to live in Pec, and today only Rumena remains in its central parts. This retired teacher and professor of the Serbian language, who stoically resists adversity in her 90s, lives alone in a well-preserved family house in the town center. According to her, the most difficult thing she is facing is loneliness.
