The reded zone of the Covid hospital in Batajnica is the epicenter of the horror that Serbia is living through these days. There patients fight for every breath, Dr. Tatjana Adzic, the director of the hospital, revealed the saddest story.

"Very few patients come out of intensive care. In December, when the Covid hospital opened, 70 percent failed to beat the machine, the ventilator. When the British strain of the virus appeared, the success of separation from the ventilator was even lower, between 80 and 90 percent of patients died, and now the mortality of intubated patients is more than 90 percent," said the doctor.

"Last week, a husband and wife died in one day. Both unvaccinated. She was 37, he was 45" the doctor told Nova S.
"There were five young patients in one room recently. They were not intubated and watched as the first of them was crammed into a bag and taken away. And then the next one. In a few days the next one. Four young people, aged 21 to 26, and our laboratory assistant from the Emergency Center, who was the oldest there, was 44 years old.
