Mother of pregnant woman Jovana who died from Covid: "She said she was suffocating, couldn't speak"

20-year-old pregnant woman Jovana Petrovic passed away last night at the University Clinical Center in Nis as a result of coronavirus infection. Her mother has revealed that her daughter had not been treated for any other diseases.

The woman, who was four moths pregnant with twins, was admitted to the University Medical Center in Nis on October 2, and due to her deteriorating health, she was transferred to the intensive care unit a day later, where she was connected to a ventilator.

From the moment she was hospitalized, she was under constant supervision of doctors of all specialities, but she passed away late last night.

Jovana's mother Ana explains through tears that Jovana was not ill before contracting coronavirus.

"They transferred her to Nis because of a strong cough. We last spoke two days ago and she told me she was poorly, that she had trouble speaking and was suffocating."

The mother of the deceased pregnant woman told Novosti that Jovana worked in a store, that she was very happy about the pregnancy and did not want to get married, but raise her children as a single mother.

Jovana was an only child.
