The eighth day of the blockade of the administrative crossings Jarinje and Brnjak in the north of Kosovo and Metohija has begun. The previous night went peacefully, while the Serbs who have gathered there are not giving up on their demands.

For eight days, special units of the Kosovo police have been deployed at Jarinje and Brnjak, the situation is still tense, but there have been no incidents in the last 24 hours.

Citizens of the northern Kosovo municipalities with a Serb majority are demanding that the special units of the Kosovo police withdraw from the administrative crossings and that the measures related to registration plates of vehicles coming from central Serbia and northern Kosovo and Metohija be annulled.

The administrative crossings of Jarinje and Brnjak are closed to traffic and can only be crossed on foot.

Yesterday, Serbian Air Force, and then KFOR planes flew over the area around Brnjak and Jarinje along the administrative line on several occasions, in order to monitor the security situation.
