Odalovic: Albin Kurti is making moves that cause serious fears

The president of the Government Commission for Missing Persons believes that the current events in Kosovo and Metohija represent the blurring of the essence and a provocation, because the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina related to the registration plates was a compromise solution, but Pristina took advantage of the situation and kept only those (solutions) with which it is trying to establish reciprocity

The president of the government's Commission for Missing Persons, Veljko Odalovic, told RTS that Pristina is always looking for a reason not to do something, to block something.

He had a chance to see for himself, on July 18 at Jarinje, what the abolishment of rights and laws at the administrative crossings with the southern province looks like. At that time, he was not allowed to enter Kosovo and Metohija, where he was supposed to attend the marking of the 23rd anniversary of the mass kidnapping and killing of Serbs from Orahovac in Velika Hoca, and now, he says, he cannot enter even as a regular citizen.

According to him, these are the moves that Pristina is known to make when they create some calculations of their own, that is, interests. This is a moment that speaks that Kurti is making moves that cause serious fears and anxiety, Odalovic said.

According to him, the one regarding (the removal of Serbian) registration plates was unprovoked, and this issue could have been resolved, as it had been resolved in the previous 10 years, through dialogue.

"The essence is a bit blurred here, the whole agreement regarding the license plates was related to the RKS plates when Pristina started issuing them and that was the moment when it should have been decided how traffic across the administrative line should work since we do not recognize those plates," said Odalovic.

On the other hand, Odalovic added, this is a serious provocation.

"That was solved and was being solved and extended, and it was possible to now find a solution for these plates issued by dislocated administrations. Those old KS plates were a compromise solution, but Pristina stopped issuing them and left only these plates with which it is trying to establish reciprocity, which is absurd," said Odalovic.

The problem, he points out, is the way Pristina is doing it.

"This is a provocation with the use of special forces, hundreds of police officers who have literally occupied the north and the administrative crossings," said Odalovic.

Odalovic added that KFOR could solve the problem, but, "the only question is whether they will get the order."

He reiterated that the issue of missing persons must not be politicized.
