Vulin visits head coach Piksi and Serbian team: "No place for thugs and drug dealers in stadiums"
The Interior Minister says that the state will continue to invest in development and affirmation of sports
Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandar Vulin today visited the Serbian national football team at the Sports Center of the Football Federation of Serbia (FSS) - the House of Football in Stara Pazova, and wished the national team and head coach Dragan Stojkovic Piksi success in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
Minister Vulin stressed that the police will make sure that the matches go in the best order and peacefully, and that it is up to the athletes to achieve the best results and bring joy to their fellow citizens.
"Under the leadership of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic the state will continue to invest in development and affirmation of sports, but also in the construction of new stadiums, especially the National Stadium. My goal is for football to be a family sport, and football stadiums a place without fences where we will take our children and teach them to support their country, their club. There is no place for thugs and drug dealers in the stands," said Minister Vulin.
He told parents not to allow the police to be raising their children and that they must pay attention to who their children socialize with and what kind of company they keep.
According to him, negative phenomena in sports are suppressed with strict observance of the law and the state has shown that it is capable and ready to deal with every bully, but what is harder to stop is hate speech and that is something that the whole society must deal with and condemn such behavior.
"Football matches in Serbia must not be events where people go to with a sense of apprehension," said Minister Vulin.
The minister also spoke with Secretary General of the Football Federation of Serbia Jovan Subatovic and representatives of the national squad's expert staff.
