Biggest transfer of a Serbian footballer in history: Club to pay 70 million euros for Vlahovic
The Serbian national team player is moving to Madrid
Dusan Vlahovic has been a "sought-after commodity" in the football market this summer, and according to Corriere dello Sport, the saga around his transfer is finally over.
This Italian newspaper says that the management of Fiorentina reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid regarding the transfer of the Serbian national team player, and that the compensation for signing Vlahovic will be 70 million euros.
This is also a record when it comes to transfers of Serbian footballers, which was previously held by Luka Jovic and his move to Real Madrid from Eintracht for 60 million euros.
Vlahovic scored 21 goals in Serie A last season, broke many records, and also scored playing for the Serbian national team.
Many big clubs were interested in him, and in the end, Atletico was the most persistent and decided to pay serious money to Fiorentina in order to have this Serbian footballer in their ranks.
Vlahovic came out of Partizan Belgrade's youth teams and joined Fiorentina in a transfer worth 2.5 million euros (Partizan received only 1.5 million of this).
After fully establishing himself in Florence, Vlahovic became one of the best strikers in the world and that is why Atletico head coach Diego Simeone decided to bring him to the club.
