Serbia experiencing 4th heatwave: Red meteorological alert is in force in 2 parts of the country
Temperature will reach up to 38 degrees Celsius today
A red meteorological alert is in force in some parts of Serbia today, said the website of the Republic Hydrometeorological Service (RHMZ). Very dangerous weather, with "weather phenomena of such intensity that can be dangerous for people and animals" has been forecast in the area of Pomoravlje and southeastern Serbia.
In other parts of the country, an orange alarm is in force, which indicates dangerous weather.
The RHMZ website also posted a warning about high temperatures from today until August 1.
"Until the end of the week, very warm weather with daily highs of 34 to 39 degrees," it is stated on the site.
The fourth heatwave is ahead of us. As previously announced, the highest daily temperature today will be in the range between 35 to 38 degrees, in Belgrade up to 37 degrees.
Thunderstorms are possible mid day and in the afternoon today in Vojvodina and in the mountainous areas in the west and southwest of the country.
