Video of another part of Vracar building collapsing: "It swayed and shook, then the terrace fell"

On Friday, an entire apartment in this building collapsed because of construction works being carried out next to it

After an entire wall of the building in Vidovdanska Street 6 fell down due to the works being performed at the construction site next to the building, another part collapsed today.

Telegraf's reporters learned at the scene that "first everything started to sway and shake, and then the terrace fell."

The police are currently in this street in Belgtade's Vracar municipality.

One of the residents in the building found himself there when another part of it collapsed.

"We came to see if they were filling up and found an excavator closing the fence. I asked why he was doing that, he said that he was ordered to suspend the works. He picked up his things, closed the construction fence and left. About 10 minutes later, the part that remained hanging collapsed," our interlocutor explains.

He added that residents wanted to enter their apartments taking on responsibility for any consequences in order to pick up personal documents, real estate contracts, laptops. However, for security reasons, they are not allowed to do so.

The collapse started on Friday shortly before noon, when one part of the building fell down, because a construction site next to it undermined its foundations.

An entire apartment on the ground floor as well as a part of the apartment above collapsed into a hole dug next to this building, while an excavator was at the bottom of the hole.

Residents were evacuated in time, and no one was injured. They are now staying in Hotel Slavija.

However, they still cannot return to their apartments because the building is unsafe and unstable, something confirmed by today's fresh collapse.
