A strong storm followed by stormy winds, rain and hail roared through Serbia on Thursday night, leaving behind wrecked roofs, broken trees, flooded buildings, destroyed crops...
The storm wave covered almost the entire country, and a very strong wind along with hail particularly affected Smederevo, where it broke branches and trees.
The wind destroyed everything in front of it, with videos published on social networks that we obtained from this city showing broken garden parasols and collapsed chairs in one of the cafes there.
Users from Smederevo also took to Facebook to say that sheet metal from other people's roofs flew into their yards, and during the night, firefighters also had to intervene.
Hailstones the size of tennis balls fell on Kragujevac and its surroundings yesterday. Desimirovac, Opornica, Majnic, Sumaski Raj, Petrovac and Vinogradi were all affected.
Farmers in the Sumadija region fear potentially huge damage to their crops.
The storm also hit Vojvodina, i.e., Srem. Judging by the photos coming from this region, specifically from Slankamen, corn and sunflower fields have been completely destroyed.
It was also dramatic last night in Vladicin Han, where the streets were almost flooded and difficult to navigate. The electrical grid went out in some parts of the town, the wind carried parts of roofs and even billboards.
Ice balls fell onto Cuprija as well.

Hailstones the size of walnuts fell on Nis as well. The basement in the building where the Nishville Music Festival is being held as been flooded.
As RTS was told by the Meteorological Station in Nis, 7.5 liters of rain per square meter fell in about 20 minutes.
Videos shared on social networks shows cars damaged by hailstones, as well as flooded central city streets.
RHMZ alert
According to the latest alert from the Republic Hydrometeorological Service (RHMZ), variably cloudy weather will persist until Monday, with frequent rain, showers and thunderstorms.
"In some places, there will be storms with heavy rain, large amounts of precipitation, hail and stormy winds," warns the RHMZ.
According to the announcement issued at 10:25 am on Friday, the following two hours would see rain and showers in parts of Vojvodina, Pomoravlje and Sumadija, and also in some parts of Belgeade.
