Prosecution rejects Danijela Stajnfeld's rape complaint against Branislav Lecic, the actor reacts
They were questioned by the police in March
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has rejected a criminal complaint filed by Danijela Stajnfeld against Branislav Lecic, Telegraf.rs has confirmed.
The actress accused Lecic, also an actor and director, of rape.
They were questioned by the police in March regarding the actress' claim that Lecic raped her in 2012.
Lecic rejected all accusations and claimed that he did not commit or attempt to commit the crime of rape.
Branislav Lecic told the daily Blic that he would not comment on the prosecution's decision yet, but also added that he would think of himself as a monster if he trusted the media.
"I would not like to make any comments yet, because I do not officially have that information. If I believed the media and the others and not the law, I would think of myself as a monster. Once again I will respect the law and wait for them to officially inform me, then I will make a statement," said Lecic.
He told the daily Kurir that he has had "faith in state institutions."
