Vladimir Gushchin, an expert from the Russian Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, said today that the vaccine against coronavirus developed by that Institute, Sputnik V, provides protection against coronavirus for six months.

"We have enough data that shows immunity is definitely preserved within six months, so it would be good to carry out revaccination in order to renew it," Gushchin said, RIA Novosti reported.

Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko stated earlier that the Ministry of Health has developed an approach to revaccination of the population and that it should happen every six months during a peak of the epidemic wave, and if there is no peak - once a year.
