Kostic: The only weapon we have against coronavirus at the moment is vaccination
"If what happened to us is not temporary, we are in trouble," the president of SANU warned
The president of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), Vladimir Kostic, says that pandemics have affected humankind before, but that now we must not allow them to change our lives and views.
"In order to achieve that, at this moment, the only weapon we have, that is my deep conviction, is vaccination," Kostic told RTS.
According to him, if what happened to us is not temporary, we are in trouble.
"Technology has gone so far forward, I am deeply convinced that we have a path that we can take, why we aren't is a question that requires philosophical and sociological conversations," said Kostic.
When asked about his position on the vaccination of children aged 12 to 15, Kostic said that it is very important at this moment.
"Clinical trials are painstaking and it require a certain type of bureaucratic meticulousness, but in any case we will have to submit to that type of story," said the president of SANU.
That is not only important, says Kostic, but also the only thing available.
"It is not the only thing in the sense of being little, it is the only thing, and a lot," said Kostic.
