Town of Bajina Basta to get Cyrillic Park: Cyrillic letters will be visible from the air
One of the proposals is to turn the former school building in Raca into the Cyrillic Museum
After successfully holding another "Cyrillic Heritage" event in Bajina Basta, the Municipal Council accepted the initiative coming from its members to name and create Cyrillic Park, which will be extremely important for the promotion of our alphabet at a time when more and more is lost in everyday communication.
"This is a park located in the very center of Bajina Basta, we have proposed a number of ideas that will be realized in accordance with conditions on the ground," Sinisa Spasojevic, a member of the Municipal Assembly, told RINA.
"The original idea was to promote Cyrillic through park inventory. The plan is for the paths create the shape of the letter 'ћ' when viewed from the air. Benches with Cyrillic inscriptions of famous Serbs, info boards with the history of our alphabet, as well as reminders of the great importance of the Raca transcription school. Cyrillic letters would also be written in children's playgrounds."
The president of the municipality also proposed to renovate the school building in Raca, which has not been used for a long time, and turn it into the Cyrillic Museum.
