Beo Zoo reacts to TikToker who jumped a fence and tried to ride a giraffe, angering everyone
Jovanovic introduces himself as "ludibratt" ("crazy brat") on TitTok - his actual name is Zoran Jovanovic
A giraffe that TikToker Jovanovic ruthlessly frightened just to brag about it on this social network, could have hit back as well.
He thus endangered not only the safety of the animal, but also his own safety, and after the incident, he was removed from the Beo Zoo in Belgrade, Serbia.
This kind of behavior is a first in this zoo, and it is definitely related to the weird and dangerous trend of making videos that are supposed to do well on social networks due to "challenging" situations.
The giraffe, to whom he said "hi," got scared and went away, but out of fear the animal might have struck back as well - which, considering her mass, would not have ended up as only as painful, but also as fatal for the TikToker.
Jovanovic introduces himself as "ludibratt" on his TikTok video, and that name certainly suits him, but not in a positive sense.
In the meantime, the Beo Zoo also made an official announcement.
"Beo Zoo appeals on all visitors to adhere to the clearly stated rules when visiting animals. The current case of a young man who entered the animal space and recorded material for publication on social networks is an example of irresponsible behavior, which could have ended in serious consequences for his health, and certainly endangered the safety and welfare of our animals. With the quick reaction of the employees, a lager-scale incident was prevented, and the irresponsible individual was removed from Beo Zoo."
"We ask all visitors not to try anything similar, because animals in zoos are not always tame and harmless and they are approached exclusively by our trained workers who have experience in such situations.
The main question is whether there is a possibility that the TikToker might be punished for this reckless act. He certainly deserves it, but it is difficult to find an article of the law that says, 'We must not enter the spaces reserved for animals in zoos because somebody's making a TikTok video'."
Lawyers have yet to analyze which laws and rules Jovanovic has violated.
"In consultation with lawyers, the Beo Zoo will consider the possibilities of legally sanctioning this irresponsible and reckless act," the Belgrade Zoo said.
