Mali: In the first half hour, five times more people applied for 60 euros than for 100 euros
The payment of the first 30 euros (in Serbian dinars) to all adult citizens who apply will start on May 12. Pensioners and beneficiaries of social welfare will receive the money on May 6 and 7, respectively
Today, more precisely from midnight, application for direct aid in the total amount of 60 euros started through the Treasury Administration, and on that occasion, Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali announced that "more than 20,000 people applied in the first half hour, while in 2020 3,900 people had applied for assisuance of 100 euros in the first half hour (last spring), that's about five times fewer."
Speaking for RTS he that 176,281 citizens applied by 8 am today to receive this money which is part of the third package of economic measures in the fight against the pandemic.
Registration via a call center will start on May 5, with the phone number to be announced later.
"We opened the Treasury website at midnight. The registration system is very simple: you enter the unique personal identification number (JMBG), the ID card number and state via which bank you want to receive help. We expect to exceed 500,000 applications by 12 o'clock," the minister said.
He reminded once again that pensioners, users of social welfare and those in prisons don't have to apply as they will be paid this money automatically.
Speaking about the payment plan, he said that all pensioners will be paid by May 6, social welfare users and those in the prison system on May 7, and all other citizens from May 12.
