Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Smederevo, through persistent work, shed light on a robbery committed 12 years ago and arrested S.T. (42) and B.T. (38) from Zajecar, as well as D.M. (35) and S.D. (39) from Bor, due to suspicion that they committed this crime.

They are suspected of entering the yard of a 71-year-old man and his 74-year-old wife with another man from Krusevac, who is being intensively searched for by the police, by prior agreement, in the night between January 4 and 5, 2009, strangling their dog with a chain and breaking into the house through the window.

It is suspected that the couple was then tied up and mistreated, as the criminals were asking for money and valuables.

The 71-year-old man then stopped showing signs of life, and the five of them, as is suspected, continued to search the house and the mattress, which they cut open with a knife, finding gold jewelry and 9,000 euros, after which they fled.

An autopsy determined that the owner of the house died of a heart attack. The pre-trial judge, at the suggestion of the higher public prosecutor in Smederevo, ordered detention of up to 30 days for S.T, B. T. and D M, while S.D. will be brought before the prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.
