Serbian Army combat vehicle overturns, soldier injured: 1 of 3 Pantsir missiles falls out
Traffic had been suspended in both directions, there was no potential danger from the weapon
At around 7:30 this morning, a traffic accident occurred near the Ostruznica Bridge, involving a combat vehicle of the Serbian Army on its way to perform regular duties.
One member of the Serbian Army was slightly injured in the accident, the Ministry of Defense has announced.
Namely, a convoy of Serbian Army combat vehicles was moving along this road when the incident happened.
According to unofficial information, the truck was transporting three Pantsir rocket system missiles, and during the accident, one of them, a warhead, fell out of the truck.
The police and the fire brigade are at the scene. Work is underway to safely remove the missile, RTS reports.
Traffic was first suspended in both directions and vehicles rerouted to local roads, while now vehicles can pass alternately.
The place of the accident is marked with traffic signals, and while the Public Company Roads of Serbia (Putevi Srbije) said that participants in traffic need to adjust their speed, as well as that the public will be informed in a timely manner once traffic on this road normalizes.
