Dr. Tiodorovic: We will ask for measures to last longer, 80% now have British strain of coronavirus
He added that there was a heated discussion at the Crisis HQ this morning
"None of us from the Crisis HQ are satisfied that the tightening of measures applies to this week only, but such a compromise is the last possible measure to fight coronavirus. As many as 80 percent of those infected, according to our laboratories, are now infected with the British strain. It is known to be very contagious, to spread easily. In large part because we have so many positives, and in large part because of non-compliance with the measures," says Professor Dr. Branislav Tiodorovic.
He added that there was a heated discussion at the Crisis HQ this morning.
"Those who stand for the economy, which we can absolutely understand, know very well that it is not easy for people who are working, but we should also know that healthcare workers are in a terrible problem and that there are no more beds to accommodate serious patients in hospitals," Tiodorovic pointed out and added:
"The measures are valid until next Monday morning, and most likely a new meeting of the Crisis HQ will be held then, when we will ask for these measures to be extended. The assessment of the medical part of the Crisis HQ is that the data will not be better, that we will even have worse numbers on that Monday and we will ask for an extension of the measures," Tiodorovic stressed, according to the daily Kurir.
