Bishop Atanasije, who died yesterday from Covid, to be buried at Tvrdos Monastery

Two days of mourning have been declared due to his passing

Bishop Atanasije will be buried on Saturday in the parecclesion (chapel) of the Resurrection of the Lord at the cemetery of the Tvrdos Monastery, the Diocese has announced.

Until the funeral, the body of this retired bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church will be in the Trebinje Assembly Temple, where liturgy will be served today, with the faithful paying respects.

Bishop Atanasije died yesterday in Trebinje from the consequences of coronavirus.

On the occasion of the death the retired bishop of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral, a two-day period of mourning has been declared in Herzegovina - March 5 and 6.
