A day after it was announced that Patriarch Porfirije would spend the upcoming period in self-isolation because he was in contact with a priest who has coronavirus, the SPC issued a statement.

"His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije is in this way offering fatherly thanks to all those from the Fatherland and from various parts of the world, who yesterday, as well as today, from the early morning hours, contacted the Patriarchate Palace in Belgrade, expressing prayerful care for his health," says the statement of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC).

"He informs them with love that he is performing all his patriarchal administrative tasks and duties regularly and without interruption, strictly adhering to all binding epidemiological recommendations and measures," it added.
