As of today, Dragan Stojkovic Piksi is officially the head coach of Serbia (the country's football team) - and this information has also been published on the official website of the Football Federation of Serbia (FSS).

"By the decision of the Executive Board of the Football Federation of Serbia, Dragan Stojkovic is the head coach of the A national team. An agreement on this has been reached to mutual satisfaction. Stojkovic has signed a 3-year contract, i.e. until the end of the qualifications for the European Championship in 2024," the FSS site said on Wednesday.

Stojkovic himself spoke for the first time as the national team's head coach in a statement made for the FSS website.

"I am overjoyed and at the same time extremely proud. There is no greater honor than being the head coach for your country. I couldn't have wished for a better birthday present. I am aware of the responsibility I'm taking on, but I also believe in my own quality, the quality of my associates and the huge potential that our national team has. I also feel the great support from all sides that will be necessary for us to achieve our goals. The World Cup qualifiers are starting very soon.

We are very much in the preparation phase, we are analyzing the opponents, the first of the two are extremely difficult and realistically, our main rivals for the top spot in the group. As I recently stated, we must be united, we must go out and die for the jersey of our country, the coat of arms and the anthem. There is no other way to succeed. The result is a priority, but I also want us to dominate, to want an extra goal and we be the ones to control the game. There will be difficult moments, but even then, unity, faith and optimism will be necessary so that the next game is better. Once again, I want to thank the Football Federation of Serbia for their faith in me and I hope that together we will have reason to rejoice in the success of our national team," said Dragan Stojkovic.

Beside head coach Dragan Stojkovic, Stevan Stojanovic will be the director of the A team, which is another big change that the FSS has officially announced, and let us remind you that Vladimir Matijasevic did that job thus far.

Regarding the staff, the head coach has selected the following:

Goran Djorovic - coach

Sasa Ilic - coach

Bratislav Zivkovic - coach

Goran Cumic - goalkeeper coach

Katsushito Kinoshi - fitness coach

Nebojsa Stamenkovic - coach analyst

Nemanja Filipovic - team manager
