One of the most popular actors in Serbia and Russia at the moment, Serbia-born Milos Bikovic (33) recently received Russian citizenship, and he now spoke jokingly about marrying a Russian woman.

He was a guest on Serbia's public broadcaster RTS when he pointed out that he has two homelands and that he will continue to bring the two nations closer, adding with a smile that, if he marries a Russian woman, he can now say that he did it purely out of love.

"Since I went to Russia, I've felt like a part of that society. At home, like in my Serbia. This is an additional confirmation and an honor for me. Now it's just been made official. I have been living and creating there for seven years now," the well known actor said.

And now there's no doubt that if he marries a Russian woman, everyone will know that he did it out of love, rather than to get a passport.

Asked if that means he has something to announce, he replied:

"I do not."

Speaking about how he fit so well into Russian society, Bikovic pointed out to Russians themselves as deserving praise above anything else.

"That speaks the most about them and how much they respect culture and people who work in culture. At a time when everyone is closing borders and when people are becoming alienated, they are making a gesture like this, and that means the two nations getting even closer," the actor explained.

Serbian culture is something that was formative for him and something that he promotes and tries to celebrate wherever he can.

"Since I have been a part of Russian culture for some time now, I can freely say that it is all part of one and the same code, that our values are the same. Our Slavic origins, history, a predominantly Orthodox-Christian value system. A strong Islamic factor, where in both countries we have our brothers, Muslims, who are an important part in formng the cultural life," Bikovic points out.

Despite the fact that Russia is the largest country in the world, many Russians know about Serbia and everyone there looks at Serbs positively and with affinity.

Bikovic is also trying to help further the development of the film industry, through the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

"With partners from Italy, we are creating an animation studio, which is the first of its kind in the Balkans. I will try to make suggestions and give my contribution to creating a platform that would contribute to the systematization of the platform in Serbia. We, as the successors of Yugoslav cinematography, have a huge experience, but Serbian cinematography must live in a new world and a different reality, and that is why we must find a modus operandi," the actor said.
